Primary duties
- Handle pre- and post-processing of translation files using CAPT tools
- Help ensure the professional and effective management of an extensive translation memory infrastructure
- Support the Versacom Service/Project Management team in analyzing and planning language projects and formulating expert recommendations for optimizing execution strategies and strategic issue management
- Ensure technical support for CAPT tools
- On occasion, perform certain desktop publishing and localization tasks
- Align documents for integration into translation memories
Education and skills
- Diploma of Collegial Studies in a related field
- At least three years’ experience in a technology-related position
- Ideally, experience with a professional language services firm
- Fluency in French and excellent understanding of written English
- Ideally, experience with a computer-aided professional translation tool
- Ideally, solid knowledge of HTML, XML and SGML
- Ideally, knowledge of Web technologies and InDesign software

If you are a seasoned financial translator with experience in other fields, this is the position for you. You will also be required to revise. Attention to detail and strong research skills are a must. You will be called on to exercise your professional judgment in finding and choosing the information required to accurately translate a variety of documents—often specialized. You will be guided by a seasoned reviser and work in close collaboration with our Project Management Centre and Terminology Centre. You will also help maintain win-win, professional relationships with our clients.
Primary duties
- Translate texts, primarily in the financial sector, within established time frames and in keeping with Versacom's stringent quality standards
- Revise such texts, as needed
- Conduct any necessary terminology and documentary research
- Leverage the strategic potential of each text, in accordance with client objectives
- Working with the Project Management Centre, keep close track of current projects and deadlines
- Use translation-assistance, research and management tools judiciously
Education and skills
- A university degree (bachelor’s or higher) in translation
- At least five years’ experience in financial translation (mutual funds, securities, stock markets, economics)
- Experience in revision
- Experience in legal translation, an asset
- Flawless command of the English language and excellent understanding of French
- Ideally, training in mutual funds, securities, stock markets and economics
